RYA Shorebased Day Skipper (Theory & Exam)
Course Content
This is a beginners course which assumes no prior experience and is intended to be both enjoyable and informative. It introduces basic navigation, including chart work, position fixing, tides, buoyage and passage planning as well as the essential subjects of safety and meteorology. The course is equally suited to both sail and powerboat users. With the increasing use of modern electronic aids to navigation, an introduction to the safe use of GPS is also included. The course is essential preparation for the RYA Day Skipper Practical Course.
